Jim Lee - Master of the comic book!

.
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've written anything here. I've taken a step back from twinstickgaming.com for a while whilst I focus on weddings, my career, being short and other general Hollie things. I still want to continue writing however, so here is a little article about my favourite comic book artist.

So... Jim Lee.

Jim Lee is another comic book artist maestro, (I wrote about Fiona Staples some time ago on this very blog) most known for his pencilling and inking work with DC comics - specifically Batman: Hush. He started in the industry with work in Punisher War Journal and The Uncanny X-Men, where he hit it big and co-formed Image Comics, a publisher for independent comics. Image Comics is a fantastic concept - a platform for publishing where independent comic book artists and writers are not as restricted with their content.

He also designed and drew some comic book covers for the Gears of War comic series (notably #19, pictured left).

Jim Lee, top notch geezer
Batman: Hush is probably one of my all-time favourite Batman story arcs, panning a total of 12 comics (Batman #608-619). The series was pencilled by Jim Lee, with inking from Scott Williams, writing from Jeff Loeb and colouring by Alex Sinclair.

Jim Lee has a degree in medicine. His study of anatomy and muscle structure within his degree may have something to do with his passion for drawing heroes -well, I would definitely use a knowledge of the human body to my advantage if I were an artist!

He uses an F Lead pencil for the majority of his pencilling work, and a quill for inking.

Truly a master of his art!
